Racks & Watts is an Elevated Labs publication about the hardware and software that run a small homelab: GPU boxes for local AI, always-on servers, self-hosted services, home automation and whole-house audio. We write about what we own and run. If we have not run a part on our bench, we say so.

How we measure: idle and load power from a wall meter, GPU temperatures and fan speeds from the driver under a repeatable workload, LLM throughput in tokens per second on named models and quantisations, noise with a phone meter at one metre when we report it. We publish the method beside the number so you can repeat it.

How we pay for it: our own money, plus affiliate commissions when you buy through a link here. Commissions never decide a verdict, and we say when the cheaper or older part is the one to buy.
